The makers of the popular children's toys Thomas and Friends are recalling nearly 1.5 million of them because paint on the toys contains lead and could be toxic if ingested by young children.

Toymaker RC2 Corp. on Wednesday announced another recall of 269,000 of its Thomas & Friends wooden railway toys because the surface paint on the products contains high levels of lead.

About 21,000 Thomas and Friends Wooden Railway Troublesome Truck and Crates, as well as Troublesome Truck and Paint have been recalled for choking and magnet ingestion hazards.
