From the beach to the bush, Aussies flocked to oceans, parks and paddocks to celebrate Christmas Day. For some though, the day-to-day work goes on, and for others it is an opportunity to give back to their local community.

Revellers have packed beaches as Australia saw a sweltering Christmas Day. From swims to lunches, locals have soaked up the festive sun. There was barely a patch of grass to be seen at Bronte Beach in the Eastern suburbs where a sea of red and white stretched from the grass to the ocean.
