TCU trailed by six with 3:14 left to play before the Frogs would go on 7-0 run to close out the contest. Senior Brendan Wenzel, who made his first appearance since Dec. 5, fired home a crucial 3-pointer to cut the Wildcat lead to just one with 1:17 remaining.

K-State players lamented the final play of the night. It went poorly from the beginning when Tang instructed his team to call a timeout after the ball crossed midcourt. But the timeout was called too early and the Wildcats had to in-bound the ball from the backcourt.

Even though the Wildcats gave their fans reason to hope for a mid-season turnaround when they upset No. 17 Cincinnati earlier this week, it’s worth pointing out that game was played in front of a friendly crowd inside Bramlage Coliseum.
