Seventy-five firefighters responded to a house fire in Montgomery County Tuesday night. The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) said crews responded to the house fire located in the 5400 block of Griffith Road which is a non-hydrant area.

Crews were at the scene of a car crash and subsequent fire that happened in Germantown on Tuesday evening. At about 5:40 p.m., the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCRS) responded to a townhouse in the 13000 block of Thyme Court.

A public viewing and service for fallen Montgomery County Master Firefighter Christopher Higgins will be held Jan. 23

Master Firefighter Christopher Higgins, 46, who collapsed at a house fire in Laurel last Saturday, will be honored at a service Jan. 23.

There was a large presence of firefighters outside a Montgomery County apartment on Wednesday. Firefighters responded at 12:41 a.m. to the 4500 block of Frederick Pike on reports of an apartment fire.
