Canadian police on Sunday said that there is no imminent threat from the network of criminals following accusations against the Indian government related to the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

The remarks came days after the the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the country’s national police service, publicly accused the ‘agents of the Government of India’ of being involved in ‘widespread’ acts of violence in Canada.

India shared security-related information with Canada about various gang members, including those belonging to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, and requested their arrest, but "no action has been taken by the Canadian side" on the request.
