If you didn’t know, January is National Soup Month, and a company that often comes to mind when you think of canned soup decided to offer people a different way to experience chicken noodle: in the form of drops.

Progresso has stirred up a soup-er strange confection to honor National Soup Month. Through the end of January, the soup giant is selling chicken noodle-flavored hard candies — “soup you can suck on,” parent company General Mills announced in a news release Thursday.

Progresso Chicken Noodle Soup Is Now Available in Hard Candy Form — and We Tried It
Each order of 20 drops comes in a container resembling Progresso’s actual soup cans and is accompanied by a can of actual Progresso Traditional Chicken Noodle Soup. The cost of both is $2.49, plus 99 cents shipping.

The Soup Drops will be available for a limited time throughout January, which is also National Soup Month. Those looking to get their hands on the drops can purchase them at ProgressoSoupDrops.com starting at 9 a.m. Eastern Time on January 16. Additional drops will be released every Thursday for the rest of the month, while supplies last.
Suckable chicken noodle soup-flavoured cough drops are a thing now
The company says the chicken noodle soup-flavoured drops taste like broth, savoury veggies, soft egg noodles and a sprinkle of parsley. Each $2.49 can comes with 20 lozenges. The main ingredient in the lozenges is isomalt, a sugar substitute often found in sugar-free treats, as well as chicken meat powder and chicken fat.
