Oklahoma death row inmate Wendell Arden Grissom denied clemency
The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board on Wednesday voted 4-1 to deny clemency to a death row inmate who said last month he is ready to be executed. Wendell Arden Grissom is set to be executed March 20 for fatally shooting a woman during a 2005 home invasion as she held her friend's newborn baby.
Wendell Grissom was convicted in the 2005 murder of Amber Dawn Matthews, while she was protecting her friend’s children during a home invasion near Watonga.
