Elon Musk has no official control over D.O.G.E, the White House confirmed on Monday, shutting down speculation that the billionaire has decision-making power in Trump’s government efficiency overhaul.

Federal courts are considering whether Elon Musk’s status as de facto administrator of DOGE complies with the Constitution’s Appointments Clause.

DOGE said that the most savings were realized via changes at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), accounting for about $6.5 billion in savings. Another $502 million was saved at the Department of Education, DOGE said. DOGE also reported savings at a number of other federal agencies.
