The Houston Astros finalized a trade of reliever Ryan Pressly to the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday, offloading a majority of the right-hander’s salary and officially parting with a key figure of their most successful era.

The Astros have formally announced the trade. Pressly has been considered a trade candidate for much of the offseason, and probably even as far back as August, when he hit the minimum number of appearances to trigger the vesting option in his contract.
