Based on the Rooney Rule’s language, if the Giants lose one of these two men (Brown or Kafka), they would get a compensatory third-round draft pick in both 2025 and 2026. If the Giants lose both, they would get an extra such comp pick in 2027 — but not a fourth such comp pick in 2028.

The New York Giants are expected to block Mike Kafka from any offensive coordinator interviews should requests be made.

The New Orleans Saints are bringing Giants offensive coordinator and assistant head coach Mike Kafka in for a second interview for the head coaching job on Tuesday.

Macdonald said he will give leeway to the new offensive coordinator to hire his own assistants. That has Seahawks line coach Scott Huff and others on notice, waiting uncomfortably.

The Detroit Lions sported one of the best offensive lines in the NFL this season. Credit there goes to offensive line coach Hank Fraley. Now, Fraley’s name is at least popping up in this year’s head-coaching interview cycle.

Brown, who interviewed for the Raiders GM job, will now return to the Giants for a fourth season barring anything unexpected.

The Raiders have hired Bucs assistant GM John Spytek to be their GM, but like the Cowboys, Saints, Jaguars and Jets, they don't have a new head coach yet.

The Cowboys interviewed Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, who played for the team and then served as Dak Prescott’s play-caller for four seasons. Dallas also interviewed former Jets coach Robert Saleh and former Vikings coach Leslie Frazier.

Despite finishing 10-7 under head coach Mike Macdonald, the Seattle Seahawks missed the NFL playoffs. It was a year in which two-time Pro Bowler DK Metcalf appeared to take a step back into the wide receiver No. 2 role.

The Giants are hiring Manuel, 45, to replace Jerome Henderson, according to ESPN. They fired Henderson after their disastrous 3-14 season, along with safeties coach Michael Treier. Those are the only coaches fired by Brian Daboll this offseason.
