Dr. Floyd Moreland helped to restore Seaside Heights' classic carousel in the 1980s, and was one of the first to ride it when it reopened last June.

Located inside Enchanted Island Amusement Park at Encanto Park, it's the only Allan Herschell American Beauty Carousel in the state.

The carousel, which has its own pavilion on the north end of Seaside Heights' boardwalk, is named after Moreland, who helped restore it when it had fallen into disrepair back in the 1980s.
