There were more than 100 reports of severe weather from Oklahoma into Pennsylvania as of Wednesday as severe weather tore across parts of the Midwest and South, tearing buildings apart and ripping down trees and powerlines.

Violent storms cut through a wide swath of the South and Midwest, spawning tornadoes and killing at least two people, knocking down power lines and trees and ripping roofs off homes.

A highway of moisture flowing off unusually warm waters — combined with an intense storm system — will result in dangerous flooding from Arkansas through the Ohio and the Tennessee valleys over the next few days.
