Feiffer, who died Jan. 17, first published his self-titled comic strip in The Village Voice in 1956. Later syndicated, Feiffer went on to run for more than four decades. Originally broadcast in 1982.
Although Feiffer will be remembered first and foremost as a cartoonist, he was also a comics scholar, playwright, screenwriter, graphic novelist, memoirist, illustrator and teacher.
Jules Feiffer, the cartoonist and playwright whose syndicated comic strip ran for four decades, has died. The Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner was 95.
