Mike Broeker will replace Bill Scholl, who announced his retirement in May but stayed on the job after former MU president Michael Lovell died in June

Marquette has promoted Mike Broeker to take over as athletic director from the retiring Bill Scholl.University president Kimo Ah Yun announced the move Tuesday and said Broeker would take over immediately as vice president and athletic director.

Mike Broeker, a 1997 Siena graduate, was promoted Tuesday to athletic director at Marquette University of the Big East Conference. Broeker was in his 18th year as Marquette's deputy athletic director.
