GENESEE COUNTY, MI - Due to dangerous icy roads and severe wind gusts, many Flint area schools have closed for Thursday, Feb. 6. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for southeast Michigan until 9 a.m. Thursday, with mixed precipitation bringing up to a half-inch of snow and sleet, along with a light glaze of ice, according to weather.com.

Some school districts in Massachusetts and New Hampshire are closed on Thursday because of a snow and ice storm.

National Weather Service forecasters Wednesday set down a Winter Weather Advisory covering almost the entire state, warning of slippery road conditions during the morning and evening commutes. Snowfall is expected to begin between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Thursday, before the precipitation shifts to ice and rain in the afternoon.
