The S P BSE Sensex was up 601.33 points to 77,361.14, while the NSE Nifty50 climbed 215.40 points to 23,464.90 as of 12:50 PM.

Optimism is also brewing as investors look for potential catalysts in the upcoming Union Budget. Construction, IT, and auto stocks steered the rally, while financials and metals weighed on the benchmarks.

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a mildly positive start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 23,438 level, a premium of nearly 20 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.
