Donald Trump's border czar is blaming news leaks for hindering a large-scale immigration operation in Colorado.

The high-profile operation appeared to be one of the largest targeted raids by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement since President Donald Trump took office on a promise to deport immigrants with criminal records. Trump months ago vowed to launch the deportation effort "Operation Aurora" upon taking office.

Officers from several U.S. federal agencies searched for illegal immigrants on Wednesday in Aurora, the Colorado city with a large migrant population where President Donald Trump laid out his immigration policies during his campaign.

The federal lawsuit filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in Chicago claims sanctuary policies in Illinois that keep local authorities from cooperating with the deportation effort are “exacerbating” a crisis at the U.
