This is Uconn's first national championship under head coach Dan Hurley, and the first time since 1997, and only the second time in tournament history that a number four seed has won.

The UConn football team raised its standard in 2024, and hopes to keep its momentum building with coach Jim Mora extended through the 2028 season.
