Motorists are facing lengthy delays on sections of the M25 and M26 after a Tesco lorry burst into flames following a crash. Dashcam footage showed fire engulfing the lorry and a plume of smoke rising into the sky.

A lorry which caught fire on the M25 will cause travel chaos until midday, motorists have been warned. Images show the vehicle engulfed in flames in the middle of an empty motorway. Fire crews can later be seen surrounding the scorched wreckage after the fire has been extinguished.

The M25 is partly closed between Surrey and Kent following a lorry burst into flames. The blaze broke out between junction 5 and junction 6 at around 10pm on Sunday, between Sevenoaks and Godstone. All clockwise lanes are closed,

Closures on the M25 and M26 due to a lorry fire are likely to last until midday, road users have been warned. The M25 is closed clockwise between J5 near Sevenoaks and J6 near Godstone/Caterham, according to Highways England. Diversions are in place.

The M25 was closed near Watford this morning due to debris after a car transporter lorry crashed with a black Kia Rio.
