After the fire broke out at the Martinez refinery over the weekend, the community warning system issued a level 3 alert, which is the most severe. Now, residents are demanding action from local leaders.

Refinery officials said Monday evening the fire was still burning, though it was a "small residual fire under control" and will still produce smoke until further notice. Six workers were injured, five of whom have either since been released from the hospital or were treated and released at the scene Saturday.
