Lionel Messi, the Argentine soccer legend and Inter Miami forward, just scored a sweet — and massive — home in South Florida. The global sports icon has entered into an agreement to acquire four residences within the Cipriani Residences Miami, an upscale 80-story tower under development by Mast Capital.

The stars came out to see Lionel Messi on his latest visit to Los Angeles, but it was a less-than-sparkling night for the Inter Miami superstar, as his team slumped to a 1-0 defeat against LAFC in the first leg of its Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinal.

LAFC made the Champions Cup finals in 2020 and 2023 and beat the Columbus Crew 4–2 on aggregate in the Round of 16 last month. Denis Bouanga, the MLS Golden Boot winner in 2023 and co-runner-up with Messi and Luis Suarez last season, scored three of L.A.’s four goals against the Crew.

Los Angeles FC kept Lionel Messi off the scoresheet in a 1-0 victory over Inter Miami in the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinal matchup.

Messi signed a two-and-a-half year contract with Inter Miami in 2023, so it runs through the end of the 2025 season. At this point, he’s played at the MLS stadium in Fort Lauderdale, but the team will move into a larger stadium at Freedom Park in Miami for the 2026 season. Messi’s contact includes an option to stay with Inter Miami for 2026.

He may not turn 50 for another month yet, but David Beckham has already kicked off the celebrations for his half-century by throwing a party in Miami.
