Banijay and NBCUniversal have teamed for the light detective drama 'Monk' in an adaptation for Disney+ Hotstar.

Banijay Asia and Disney+ Hotstar are adapting NBCUniversal's hit 'Monk' for India, ANT1 TV will adapt Brit hit 'Doctor Foster' for Greece.

Banijay Asia and Disney+ Hotstar team up for the Indian adaptation of the American show 'Monk'. The series will be exclusively streamed on Disney+ Hotstar and Hulu, marking the first Asian version globally.

The award-winning comedy drama Monk is the latest international series to get the remake treatment in India on Disney+ Hotstar. Earlier, Indian versions of The Night Manager and The Good Wife have also been adapted for local audiences by the streamer.

This adaptation marks the first Asian version of the iconic detective series, which originally aired on the USA Network in the U.S. and centers on Adrian Monk, a detective with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) working with the San Francisco Police Department to solve unusual cases while grappling with his wife's unsolved murder.

Disney+ Hotstar has announced the Indian remake of the popular US drama series, Monk. This will be the first South Asian adaptation of the show, which revolves around a detective with obsessive-compulsive disorder named Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub).
