With another two of Sony's live-service PS5 games cancelled and sent to the scrapheap, PlayStation fans and games media have started to truly map out the results of the company's Games as a Service efforts, announced a few years ago. The results, outside of an unexpected Helldivers 2 success story, are incredibly damning.

Two Sony PlayStation games get cut from the studio's US slate nearly a year after it laid off 900 staff and closed its London office.

Sony has canceled two live-service games, one from its remake and remaster studio Bluepoint and another from Bend Studio in Oregon.

The game Bend Studio was creating was also a live-service title. Sony hasn't confirmed whether the two cancellations will lead to layoffs at either developer, but they will remain open. Sony is "working closely with Bend and Bluepoint to determine what are the next projects and plan to do everything we can to ensure there is minimal business impact,

The company told subsidiaries Bend and Bluepoint it will work with them to determine their next steps and minimize job losses

Sony has reportedly canceled two unannounced PlayStation games: one, a God of War live-service game from Demon's Soul Remake studio Bluepoint, and the other an untitled live-service game from Day's Gone developer Bend Studio.
