Condemned South Carolina inmate Brad Sigmon has chosen to die by a firing squad. He would be the first U.S. inmate shot to death in an execution in 15 years.
Prosecutors had previously said they would no longer pursue the case, but the judge's action on Friday makes the dismissal of the charge official.
