The Madre Fire is the largest wildfire in California in 2025 — surpassing the Los Angeles-area fires that devastated parts of the region in January.

SHEFFIELD — First United Pentecostal Church Pastor Gilbert Salinas thought it would take up to a year to repair damage that a Wednesday fire caused to the church.
