After a nearly eight-month deployment, the USS Gettysburg is set to return to Naval Station Norfolk on Friday, U.S. Navy officials said.

The crew of the Gettysburg left Norfolk in September 2024 as part of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group.

Sailors aboard the USS Gettysburg are returning to Naval Station Norfolk Friday after a near eight-month deployment to the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of operations.
