Residents were scrambling on Saturday to buy ice melt and salt before yet another winter storm in Massachusetts.

FITCHBURG - Parts of Massachusetts are dealing with a wintry mix of snow and rain moving in through Thursday morning, with another storm looming this weekend. A shortage of salt could have some communities scraping the bottom of their supplies by the time the weekend comes to an end.

While there has already been much discussed about rock salt shortages for many local municipalities in WNY, it has become more difficult recently to find salt and ice melt for your sidewalks or walkways at your local hardware stores.

Despite a shortage of rock salt and ice melt in some Massachusetts communities this winter, some in the Attleboro area say they are managing.
