Local police stopped the pop singer/songwriter from busking on a local street in the southern city of Bengaluru. Sheeran was singing his 2017 hit single “Shape of You” when an officer came and took away his live microphone. Sheeran is in India during a 15-day leg of his “Mathematics” tour.

While in the middle of singing "Shape of You," a police officer unplugged Sheeran's microphone, resulting in shocked reactions from the crowd.

While Indian police have claimed Ed Sheeran didn't have permission to perform in public, the musician has claimed otherwise.
