LUCERNE VALLEY • A three-alarm fire forced the evacuation of the Lucerne Valley Market and Hardware store and other nearby shops on Wednesday, causing an estimated $300,000 worth of property damage.

The incident occurred just before 5 p.m. last Friday at the Lucerne Valley Market. According to officials, a man was confronted by the two suspects, who were known to him, in the parking lot.
