The Underwater Photographer of the Year contest highlights compelling underwater images of wrecked ships and planes.

Fighting fish, thirsty camels and hairy shrimp are all featured among the winning images of the 2025 Underwater Photographer of the Year competition.

A stunning photograph of a mother humpback whale and her newborn calf win this year's Underwater Photographer of the Year

David Alpert, an award-winning underwater and wildlife photographer, as well as Co-Founder and Managing Director of the International Institute for Active Ageing (iiaa), took the winning image, titled "The Curious Seal". Selected from thousands of entries, the photograph challenges the misconception that British waters are murky and lifeless.
