Virat Kohli has been ruled out of the first ODI against England in Nagpur due to a knee injury he suffered on the eve of the game. He was replaced in India's XI by Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was making his ODI debut along with bowling-allrounder Harshit Rana.

Virat Kohli is the third-highest run scorer in ODI cricket history with 13,906 runs under his belt. If he scores 94 runs in the first ODI he will reach the elusive milestone of 14,000 ODI runs. He will thus become the first player in history to reach the landmark in less than 300 innings.
