Legendary wrestler Hulk Hogan has died at age 71. Here are some of his Michigan connections, highlighted by WrestleMania III vs Andre the Giant.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was WWE’s baby-faced crowd favorite when he met the villainous Hogan at WrestleMania in an “Icon vs. Icon” match in WrestleMania in 2002. One problem, the Toronto crowd decided to back Hogan.

PONTIAC, Mich. – Hulk Hogan, one of the icons of professional wrestling, died Thursday at the age of 71. Hogan was perhaps the biggest star in WWE history, and we dug into the vault to find some footage from 1987, when he took on Andre the Giant during Wrestlemania 3 at the Pontiac Silverdome.
