More than 100 workers were left blindsided, and more than 8,000 community members who rely on the services provided by Heartland Alliance Health are scrambling.

Employees have been told that the two clinics will close Feb. 26, and the organization’s three food pantry locations will close Feb. 22.

Heartland Alliance Health's three food pantries will close Feb. 22. The organization's remaining operations will cease by April 7. The closure comes less than a year after Heartland Alliance split into four separate entities.

The organization, formerly part of Chicago social services nonprofit Heartland Alliance, will close its clinics and food pantries.
