On the 30-share Sensex platform, Kotak Bank, Bajaj Finserv, IndusInd Bank, Adani Ports, UltraCemco, Bajaj Finance emerged losers

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 36.86 points, or 0.09 per cent, to 43,275.91; the S&P 500 rose 23.20 points, or 0.40 per cent, to 5,864.67; and the Nasdaq Composite rose 115.94 points, or 0.63 per cent, to 18,489.55.

The S&P BSE Sensex was down 73.48 points to close at 81,151.27, while the NSE Nifty50 lost 72.95 points to end at 24,781.10.

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a muted start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 24,810 level, a premium of nearly 20 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.

As of 7:13 am, GIFT Nifty futures, an early indicator of the 50-share index, were up 10.20 points or 0.04 per cent at 24,799.
