Baseball fans in Fort Myers are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Boston Red Sox equipment truck. Starting at 8 a.m. on Thursday, fans at Jetblue Park will begin to line up to support the start of the spring training season.

Truck Day marks the unofficial start of Red Sox spring training, and on Monday the Red Sox’s equipment truck began its journey to Fort Myers, Fla., with 20,400 baseballs, 1,100 bats, 200 batting gloves and helmets,

The annual "Truck Day" celebration has been a tradition for the Red Sox since 2003. Red Sox pitchers and catchers will report for duty on Tuesday, Feb. 11 and hold their first workout the next day on Wednesday, Feb. 12. Alex Cora's team will hold its first full-squad workout on Monday, Feb. 17.
