Miro, Malakai Black and Ricky Starks are all free agents after they were either released or saw their AEW contracts expire.

AEW released Ricky Starks and Miro after lengthy TV absences, setting the stage for WWE to add the two stars to their loaded roster.

Starks hasn't wrestled for AEW since March of last year, only wrestling five matches for the promotion in all of 2024. As Ricky revealed in an interview with ourselves last May - and more recently in a Chris Van Vliet chat - he hasn't been injured, he didn't know why he'd not been used more, and he was fit, healthy, and eager to work.

Now known as Miro, WWE's former Rusev was also released from AEW after asking for his release in September 2024. His final match was at Worlds End on December 30, 2023.

Recent reports confirm that AEW has released several stars, including Ricky Starks, Miro, and Malakai Black. These wrestlers have been absent from AEW for a long time. Miro has not been seen in AEW since defeating Andrade at Worlds End in December 2023.

Both Miro and Ricky Starks have reportedly requested their release from AEW, and they may have just been granted their exits from the company.

Ricky Starks is no longer listed on the roster page on the AEW website. On Monday, Ricky Starks’ profile was removed from the AEW roster page. Starks has not appeared on AEW TV in several months. However,

Confirmation that Starks was released from his contract with the company came shortly after he was removed from the company’s website. The belief has long been that he would join mentor Cody Rhodes in WWE as soon as possible.
