United Airlines will resume flights between Newark and Tel Aviv on March 15, adding a second flight on the route starting March 29. The airline said in a statement the decision comes after "a detailed assessment of operational considerations for the region and close work with the unions who represent our flight attendants and pilots."

The United Airlines flight incident comes just days after two deadly plane crashes. Last week, an American Airlines flight traveling to Washington, D.C., collided with a U.S. military helicopter over the Potomac River. Sixty-seven people were killed, making it the deadliest incident for U.S. aviation in nearly a quarter of a century.
