The long list of bikes I've owned illustrates the challenges of bike addiction but is also meant to shed some light on the breadth of exposure I've had to various machines. I will eventually have my inventory whittled down to one machine - and it will be the R1200S.

Nov 22, 2013 · The R1200S. Back in 2007 I really really wanted one but it just wasn't in the cards. A few years later and I am happy with my 07 R1200R, which I've had for about a year. But I have wondered why did BMW not continue to sell the R1200S? Did it just not sell? We're they just trying to focus more on developing the SS1000RR?

New oil filter/oil (Mobil 1 15w40), valves (right side intakes were tight; left side were all OK), checked tranny fluid which was very clean but needed to be topped off with BMW Full Synth 75-140.

Nov 7, 2024 · BMW Issued a Service Advisory about a year ago for Dealers to drill a weep hole in the swing arm to allow moisture to escape from the swing arm cavity, and to increase the lube frequency to 12,000 miles, and to require drive shaft replacement at 36,000 miles.

Jun 18, 2007 · the numbers. BMW Atlanta set up the sag on the rear of my bike at delivery, but gave up messing with the front because of the cannister. At the 600 mile service, the cannister was removed and the tech set the sag at 35mm for both ends. I could probably use a little less sag up front, but it's really OK.
