Sep 29, 2022 · Also, the National Wrestling Hall of Fame is in Stillwater Oklahoma. Okstate is definitely top tier wrestling program and has a very large influence on the quality of high school wrestling programs across the state. Therefore, wrestling programs in the public schools in Oklahoma are actually very good.

With the prevalence of where does my state rank as a wrestling state posts I thought I would look at this more objectively. I ranked each state by historic NCAA success, recent NCAA success, Fargo success, and wrestlers per student in the state. Its not perfect. 2000-2011 All Americans are double counted.

Jul 22, 2023 · I genuinely enjoy wrestling and don’t want to let go of it so soon after high school, I’ve just had bad luck with clubs and training partners. I obviously don’t expect to wrestle at Penn state or any d1 school for that matter, but I’m wondering if one of the easier divisions like naia or d3 would be an option for me.

Jul 6, 2022 · There are a lot of colleges getting wrestling programs going (either again or totally fresh) and they need talent; so 100% yes (especially women). A local college to me has a lot of local kids on their team, not all placed. Another school I know in northern Ohio got their program started again and were looking for just about anyone to commit.

Nov 28, 2022 · Usually college Olympic sports programs dont get the funding the money making programs do, like Football. I agree that Freestyle and Greco usually has a bit more pull as well, because that's what is available for the wrestling life after college. Scholarships are for investments by the school.
