Sep 5, 2011 · Right off the bat an eight as compared to a 10 looses 2 tine measurements, 2 mass measurements and typically an 8 pt has shorter main beams than a 10 pt. If this buck would have had 2 more tines at 3 inches in length he would have been in close to 140.

Nov 19, 2024 · A 10, 8 whatever. Maybe including that it had a broken tine. If it’s a nontypical, with extra points. I would just call it a 7x6 or whatever, not counting broken tine. If the conversation got real technical I might call it a main frame 10 with a broken G3 and stickers off the beam or tines or whatever.

I'll have to check and see if I still have that issue. One of my sons said he heard the buck was killed near Wellington but my other son said he heard near Amherst.

Jan 2, 2025 · Had to think about this. Yes it was great. Hunted more than ever, finally really retired. Personally passed some really good deer looking for a 160 plus, couple around. But my grandson shot a really good 10 point (rifle) from my stand, wife shot a really nice 8 point. Spent the most time with Kathy in the woods ever.
