Mar 15, 2023 · The effective anode voltage of the 2A3 is only 220V and anode load 3.3K instead of 2.5K. Although the Sovtek is not really like the original 2A3, I am not sure it can do 3.5W. The 12AX7 works in about the same conditions as the original.

Mar 23, 2018 · The 2A3 is a directly heated output tube which enjoys continued popularity over the decades and is even still made to day by various manufacturers. It shares the same UX4 base and pinout with other triodes like the 45 , 300B, 10Y and many more.

The 2A3 is an audio power triode that is still used in amplifier designs. Modern manufacture reproduces this directly heated design.

2A3 "Single" or "Mono" Plate. This is the original version of the 2A3. Most agree they sound the best. However, they carry a high price tag due to their rarity and demand. Single Plate 2A3's were made by Cunningham/RCA, Sylvania, Tung-Sol and Arcturus. NOS examples are nearly impossible to find.
