Ben Elton is a multifaceted comic actor, stand-up comedian, novelist, screenwriter, and dramatist. He was prominent in the 1980s era of British comedy and known especially as a writer for BBC sitcoms The Young Ones (1982–84) and the last three seasons of Blackadder (1983–89).
