Joshua Tree, California: Big Josh: Cowboy Muffler Man. Formerly of Mecca, California, the fiberglass cowboy giant (with Bunyan beard) was sold in May 2017, moved to Joshua Tree February 2018 -- where he was christened Big Josh.

Meet 20 ft tall Big Josh, formerly known as The Mecca Cowboy who stood in front of Poor Richard’s Pawn Shop and Mini Mart since 1965. He now lives at The Station, a former Richfield Gas Station built in 1949.

He often wore a checked shirt and carried an axe handle, to eradicate any doubt. He made his debut at the inaugural Superbrawl pay per view in May 1991 – it became a February PPV in ’92.
