Jul 27, 2019 · CHAdeMO chargers don’t span the entire country, and generally don’t have as many charging stalls per site compared to most Supercharger locations. But some regions of the country have a good number of CHAdeMO charging locations that support EV drivers. So while 139 miles in 45 minutes is slower than a Supercharger, it’s better than L2 ...
CHAdeMO Charging for Model S (EVgo & Electrify America)
Dec 14, 2024 · Again, Chademo and CCS are DC fast charging standards. Yes, 50kw is slower than the 100-150kw your car might get at a supercharger, but the difference is negligible. Were I you there’s no way I’d voluntarily pay to use CCS or Chademo stations when you have all the free supercharging you want.
Chademo Adapter [Discussion] - Tesla Motors Club
Mar 24, 2019 · I haven't researched every new EV, but the E-Tron, I-pace, and Taycan support CCS rather than CHAdeMO. The upcoming Mach E as well as the Volkswagen ID.3 vehicles will use CCS, as is the Chevy Volt and their upcoming flood of electric models over the next few years. I fear the writing is on the wall for CHAdeMO.

Dec 28, 2016 · I carry the CHAdeMO adapter (used twice, just to learn how), the UMC with standard adapters (5-15 used twice, 14-50 used many times) as well as a home made tt-30 to 14-50 adapter (used three times), and the J1772 adapter (used many times).
Tesla CHAdeMO adapter - Tesla Motors Club
Apr 28, 2021 · The CHAdeMo adapter is about 2.5 times slower than a Tesla Supercharger (usually) but it gives you another option for charging. Once the Tesla CCS charger adapter comes available, that will bring it on par with most Tesla Superchargers, but the price is …
Is it technically possible to have an adaptor between CCS and …
Oct 18, 2018 · For DC, you must have positive locking to prevent the connector being unplugged mid-charge. CHAdeMO has this in the plug, CCS has it in the car. Hence Tesla's adapter is easy in this respect - they already have a lock in the car, and the CHAdeMO plug provides a lock on the other side of the adapter, so the adapter doesn't need to do any locking.

Nov 29, 2021 · Therefore, the CHAdeMO to Type-2 adapter only supports cars that have unified AC & DC on the Type-2-like Tesla charge port. That is the original Model S and X. I would imagine that the newer S and X that have a real CCS-2 port also can't use the CHAdeMO adapter because they can't accept DC on the upper pins.
Rapid charging (Chademo) | Speak EV - Electric Car Forums
Sep 29, 2024 · Of those that support ChaDemo, I like MFG, Osprey and Gridserve. I don't think you can classify networks by queue-free or otherwise - that depends mostly on location, time of day and time of year. The situation in the UK has been generally quite good this year as chargers are being rolled out faster than new EVs are coming on to the roads.
CHAdeMO Adapter anyone? | Tesla Motors Club
Mar 10, 2019 · The CHAdeMO adapter is a good buy when you frequently drive in areas that are not properly served by Superchargers. If everywhere you go has good supercharger coverage, it's a security but not a necessity. If you just drive outside of the covered area once or twice, you might be able to rent the adapter.
LEAF values might hold a bit - Beta CCS - Chademo adapter
Dec 20, 2023 · Both CHAdeMO and CCS do the same thing once they are charging: car and charger both monitor the voltage and check for overheating in the plug, and each keeps chatting away to the other about its needs, capability and performance, exchanging data about the same things (although using a different signal protocol in each case).
