Aug 18, 2004 · One ran 11.94 with only a lid, stall, Slicks, and a cutout. He even had 2.73 gears! The other just ran 11.68 with only programming, Drag swaybar, hal springs and shocks, stall, 3.73's, Mid legth headers with True duals, a lid, and a Chromoly K-member (he was on slicks with skinnies). LS1 cars have awesome potential!

With 3.73 gear these big trucks can get 14 or 15 mpg, and pull a mountain. The new GM HD will also give you the Allison Transmission, which albeit pricey, will give you a phenomenal powertrain. I think a 3/4 GM lightduty w/6.0 or 3/4 ton Ford with v10 would be your cheapest option. A GM HD w/ 8.1 and Allison would be the most expensive.

May 22, 2005 · there are two things to concider here, one the 5,0 mutangs come with a 3.73 rear gear from the factory which is a great ratio and the 5.0 is a screamer, the nova is heavyer althogh not buy much and came with 2.73 to 3.08 the 3.73 was an option unless you had a big block nova. i ouw both a 1993 5.0 mustang and a 1978 nova w/mild built 250 6cyl and there both just as fast but my nova has a 3.73 ...

If anyone has the specs on towing and payload for 1984 Suburbans, please post them here.
