I have been trying to copy a CD onto a cassette by using the record button. When I play it back, the cassette has a very faint recording of the CD, if it records it at all. Whatever suggestions you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Feb 27, 2017 · There are several reasons why a tape won't cal up. IF the tape is of inferior quality and/or is worn out it won't cal. The Auto Cal &/or manual cal is NOT an infinite adjustment meaning that you can have tapes that are outside the cal range that the deck is set to.

How Come Cassette Tape Will Not Eject? There may be times when your audio cassette gets stuck in the player. Even trying to eject it normally may not help, and this problem could indicate an issue with the deck.

If the microcassette-corder performs all functions except recording and playback, the small metallic head that is responsible for recording sound to the tape may be contaminated. Follow the instructions from the maintenance section of Sony's manual to clean the head.
