Cobelodus is a holocephalian shark from the late Carboniferous to early Permian period. It grew up to 2 meters long and had a bulbous head with large round eyes situated near the nose. It had a large dorsal fin positioned much further back on its body near its pelvic fins and it was thought to have lived in estuarine environments.
