Dec 17, 2024 · FWIW, I just updated my 2023 M2 Pro Mac mini to macOS Sequoia 15.2 and cannot duplicate the issue you are having with your Mac. Selecting "Emojis and Symbols" opens a pop-up window with those items to select from. I suggest two things: Boot up your Mac in Safe Mode, and try using this feature again. If that doesn't help, go on to the next step.

Mar 10, 2023 · There seems to be no other way to enter emojis using the keyboard in e.g. iMessage (like in other apps such as Slack, Mattermost and the like, which use keyboard shortcuts starting with a colon, that are confirmed using the TAB key), this leaves me without any usable way to enter emojis using a keyboard.
