My girlfriend and I both have a Forerunner 45 and have both noticed a sudden drop in battery life since the last update. I don't remember exactly when, but we both noticed that especially during activities with GPS enabled, the battery drains incredibly fast. We hiked for about 45 minutes yesterday and my battery went from 40% to 1%.

Transmission of R-R interval is not supported over ANT+ for many chest straps, the Garmin HRM Dual is one of the few that does actually support that. I bought a HRM dual as it would give me accurate heart rate whilst rowing, and support R-R transmission. But the forerunner 45 does *not* pick up the R-R data over ANT+, it only picks up the heart ...

I'd like to find out whether all the ANT+ garmin products can connect to the HRM Pro, thinking of buying a forerunner 45 as a cheaper alternative to the 745 for tri-athlone training.

Recently my forerunner 45 has started to show the triangle when i press the up button when on the main watch face. i can press down and go through the widgets with out a problem and press up to go back through the widgets to the main clock face.

Hold the middle button on the left side and a battery level indicator comes up at the top of the menu (it has five bars and the watch needs a charge when just one bar remains).

Forgotten/undocumented features of the Forerunner 45: 1- it always works in Smart Mode, which means that during any activity it won't record data unless there are changes in direction, speed, heart rate or elevation.

Finished hanging out the washing so did some weeding in the garden. Still no GPS!!! Good thing I'm retired and have time on my hands! This watch is going back to the shop today! Garmin have lost my business! Shame, because my own Forerunner 35 has been fine (unless I have bluetooth turned on, when it plays havoc with music streaming from my phone).
