The Irvine Ranch Natural Landmarks received national recognition in 2006 when protected land on the former Irvine Ranch was singled out for its rare biological and geological features through designation as a National Natural Landmark.

Enjoy an evening hike through stunning rock formations and fragrant native plants as you listen to the sounds of nature. During this hike in the Irvine Open Space Preserve, you may travel at various hiking speeds based on your comfort level. This out-and-back program travels 3.5 miles round trip up to scenic Loma Ridge and back down.
